David Thomas Tronsgard

David Thomas Tronsgard, age 85, of Scio passed away suddenly Friday, May 19, 2017 in Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison.

   Born September 16, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA he was a son of the late Raymond Ellis Tronsgard and Crystal Esther “Jeri” McGuire Tronsgard.  David was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He served in the Wing Air Police and the Base Operations before being sent to the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing in Korea.

   David was a proud graduate of Stanford University where he earned a Doctorate of Education. He also received a Master’s Degree from Columbia University. His career took him all over the world where he was part of the educational administration at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India. He was also employed by many colleges as a professor of sociology and psychology. He enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the American Contract Bridge Association in Steubenville. 

   Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Patricia Straczynski Tronsgard,whom he married August 2, 1952; children Mark Brian Tronsgard of Cleveland, Lauren (Karen) Tronsgard-Scott of Vermont and Bradley (Christina) Tronsgard of Bowerston; grandchildren Dominic, Brandon, Elloit, Michael, David, Daniel and Hanna and siblings Terri, Sandra and Sharon. He was preceded in death by a brother.

   Keeping to David’s wishes there will be no viewing or services. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
