Larry L Wood

  Larry L. Wood, age 58, of Amsterdam, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born April 17, 1959 in Aultman Hospital he was a son of JoAnn (Michael) White of Scio and the late Harold (Nancy) Wood. Larry worked for various area tree farms, including Carltons Tree Farm. He also worked in the gas and oil fields and was a maintenance worker Kensington Green in Carrollton. 

   Larry was a former member of the Carrollton Eagles. He loved doing anything outdoors. He enjoyed working on his cars, gardening, taking his children fishing when they were younger and throwing Frisbees or tomahawks at targets during family barbeques when they were older. He loved listening to classic rock and older country music and was an avid Steelers fan.

   In addition to his mother and step father his is survived by his wife Darla Stalder Wood whom he married July 3, 2002; children Vanessa (Chris) Parrish and Heath (Sherry) Wood both of Scio; step children Wendy (Chuck) Mehoc, Clinton Miner and Scott Mayle all of Canton; grandchildren Ailey, Kylie and Haley Wood and Cirsten and Analeigh Parrish; step grandchildren Katrina Obrien, Colin Mehoc, Joey and Brandon Mayle and Cheyenne and Sean Miner; a sister Rhonda Taylor of Toronto; step sisters Lynn and Cindy; an aunt Ina Marks of Scio; an uncle Robert Johnson of Perry and numerous cousins.

   He was preceded in death by his son Derrick Wood.

   In keeping with Larry's wishes his services will be private. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
