Betty Gibbs Harriman, age 80, of Wintersville, formerly of Jewett passed away at 3:07 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 in Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville, Ohio.
Born June 9, 1935 in Clay, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Claude B. Pierson and Sabbina Catherine Jones Pierson.
She was an aide at several area nursing homes and was a member of the Wintersville Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband John “JD” Harriman who she married October 12, 1973; children: Ron Gibbs of Charleston, West Virginia, Steven Gibbs of Steubenville, and Cathy (Tony) Toto of Leesburg, Florida; and step grandchildren: Kevin Morris and Casey Morris of Athens.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Dencil Pierson, Boyd Pierson, and Claude Pierson; two sisters: Ruth Pierson and Deloris Flowers; and the light of her life, her grandson, Adam Gibbs.
Visitation and Service will be held in Koch Funeral Home, Scio on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the service begins at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Henslar officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
