Born August 24, 1938 in Wheeling, WV she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Lyscki Mozney. She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1956 and a trip with friends touring the Scio Pottery in 1964 changed the course of her life.  Josephine and her friends were eating at The Ship restaurant after visiting the Scio Pottery when she met the love of her life Paul W. Myer, they married six weeks later on December 5, 1964. With her loving and giving personality Josephine fit right into her new home town. She joined the Scio American Legion Auxiliary and put her talent for cooking to work. She would bake over 25 pies every year for their eat stand at the Scio Fall Festival. She also made food and worked their many fundraisers and benefits over the 48 years she was a member. She was known for her delicious apple pies and stuffed cabbage which she shared with family and friends. She was also a member of Twin City Hospital Twig’s Auxiliary, the Crabapples Auxiliary, the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Jewett and attended St. Teresa’s of Avila in Cadiz prior to moving to New Philadelphia.  Josephine worked for Dr. James Z. Scott but found her true calling when she became a caregiver to the elderly. She enjoyed polka dancing when she was younger and word games but what she loved the most was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
