Dorothy Irene Moore Kohler, age 81, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, in the same home of her birth in Scio.
Born February 2, 1937 she was a daughter of the late James B. Moore and Myrtle Mae Everhart Moore. She graduated from Scio High School in 1955 and had worked for the Scio Pottery and Express Packaging in New Philadelphia. She was Methodist by faith and enjoyed sewing and word search puzzles but what she loved most was spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Gerald E Kohler, they married April 13, 1957; daughters Lesa Burke of Perrysville, Leslie (Kevin) Frank of Canton, Linda (Jon) Little of Tappan Lake and Lorrie (Mike) Wauthier of Port Washington; grandchildren Jerri, Jamie, Justin, Danielle and Nathan and eight great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Iverna Simmons of Carrollton and Penny Kohler Myers of Bowerston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Melvin and Nora Kohler of Kilgore and several cousins and extended family members.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her son-in-law Rick Burke and brother-in-law Roger Kohler.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, August 18th at 6 pm in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with her son-in-law, Pastor Jon Little, officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 4-6pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3695 Boardman-Canfield Rd.
