Marilyn Joann Miller Stringer, 87, of Germano, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Centerville Assisted Living in Carrollton surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 14, 1931 in German Twp. Harrison County she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Benedict Miller. She graduated from Jewett High School in 1949 and married the love of her life, John “Jack” Stringer, on September 9, 1949. Earlier in her life Marilyn was a member of the former Jewett Jr. Women’s Club and was a member of the Church of the Cross in East Springfield. But what she loved the most was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always there to support them in their activities. She especially loved to go camping at Ponderosa Park, Atwood or Petersburg Landing. She had also been the clerk for Germano Water Board.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Jack on September 29, 2012; sons Monte and Richard Stringer; a sister Donna Smith and brothers Donald, Joe, Larry, Virgil and Bob Miller.
Surviving are children Rhonda (Adrian) Tharp of Carrollton, Ron (Janet) Stringer of Jacksonville, FL, Shelley (Tony) Hanchin of Annapolis and Eric (Nancy) Stringer of Auburn, GA, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 am in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Mark Statler and her grandson Devin Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in Germano Cemetery.
