Marjorie J (Ochsenbein) Scott

Marjorie J. Ochsenbein Scott, of Scio, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Acuity Specialty Hospital in Wheeling, WV. She was born May 22, 1932 at Lansing, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oscar and Hazel Mitchell Ochsenbein.

   She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn B. Scott on January 12, 2009. They were married on August 9, 1969. Also preceding her in death are a brother David Ochsenbein and a step grandson Justin Scott.

   Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Lynn Fuhr (Barry) Pettit of Dallas, GA, a son James L. Fuhr, Jr of Martins Ferry; a step-son Tim (Deb) Scott of Cadiz; two brothers Robert J. Ochsenbein of St. Clairsville and Harlan P. Ochsenbein of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

   Marjorie graduated from Bridgeport High Scholl in 1950 and Jefferson Community College in 1974. She was a member of the Scio United Methodist Church and the former Harrison Chapter #35 Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at the Scio Pottery, Twin City Hospital as a medical secretary and for 6 ½ years as a volunteer foster grandparent working with children at the Jewett Elementary School.

   Services will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 5:30 pm in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with her grandson Pastor Barry Pettit officiating.  Friends may call Sunday two hours prior to the service from 3:30-5:30. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Scio EMS, PO Box 342, Scio, Ohio 43988.
