Janet Louise Satterfield Lawver, age 70, of Scio, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Acuity Specialty Hospital, Wheeling, WV after a lengthy illness..
Born March 28, 1951 in Wheeling, WV she was a daughter of the late Joseph Howard Satterfield and Ethel Bernadine Cross Satterfield. Having the patience of a saint, Janet was a daycare provider who loving cared for children for 19 years, treating all the kids like family. And she did love her family. She was very protective, always calling or reaching out to make sure everyone was well and no one was in need. She enjoyed word search puzzle books and watching online cooking videos. She was a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church and helped with their Prayer Blanket Outreach when able.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, George E. Lawver; a son Raymond Lawver; a sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Richard Toker, Jr. and a stillborn sister Patricia Satterfield.
Surviving is her daughter Alicia D. Lawver of the home; grandchildren Audrey, Matthew, Steven and Gina; a great grandson Dominic; siblings Terry Satterfield of New Rumley, Dave Satterfield of Cadiz, Rick (Pam) Satterfield of Dennison, Sandy (Bill Toker) Satterfield of Hopedale, Larry (Lindee) Satterfield of McCarthy, Alaska, Gary Satterfield of Bowerston, Betty (Tom) Poland of Cadiz, Wanda Satterfield of Bowerston and Doug (Trisha) Satterfield of Jewett.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, August 7th at 1 pm at Hanover Methodist Church, Scio with Pastor Vicki Muth officiating. Visitation with the family will be held two hours prior to the service from 11 am to 1 pm. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements.
