Brandon Willis “Stashe” Howell, age 24, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home in Perrysville.

 

   Born May 13, 1993 in Wheeling, WV he was a son of Richard E. Howell and Pamela A. Wells Howell of Scio. Brandon loved sports. As a boy he played on the Westside Chargers Peewee Football team and for the Uhrichsville Little League Baseball teams. He played basketball and football for the Claymont Mustangs until the eighth grade when he transferred to Carrollton Schools. He went on to play safety on the Warrior’s football team, receiving his varsity letter his sophomore year.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan.

  

  After graduating from Carrollton High School in 2011 he enlisted in the US Army starting his basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC. He went on to serve at Ft. Sill, Korea and Ft. Hood with the 162 ADA Alfa Battery 69th Brigade where he was a Patriot Missile Specialist until his enlistment was over in 2014. Brandon was currently working as a RWDSU Union Steward and in maintenance at Freshmark in Massillon.

 

   Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife Mikayla T. Host Howell whom he married January 4, 2014; a daughter Jessica M. Howell; brothers Christopher (Jackie) Howell of Scio and Jacob Howell of Uhrichsville; a niece and nephew Brooklynn and Liam Howell; grandmother Glenna Wells of Cadiz; aunts and uncles Steve (Debbie) Wells of Cadiz, Paul (Pat) Wells of New Philadelphia, Janice Howell of Missouri, Patricia Runyan of Canton, Kathleen Howell of Iowa, Robert Howell of Hartville and James Howell of North Canton; numerous cousins but he was especially close to Chad, Shawna, Brian, Tamra, Chelsea and Corey; mother and father-in-law Chris and Missi Host, sister-in-law Chelsey Host, grandparents-in-law Tom and Barb Host and Steve and Brenda Young all of Perrysville and his dogs Blackjack and Spade.

 

   Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Ross Wells, whom he had a special relationship and paternal grandparents Carl and Lillie Reis and an uncle Tom Howell.

 

   Services will be held Saturday at 11 am in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Mike Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Tappan. Friends may call Friday from 5-9 at Koch Funeral Home, Scio. An account has been established for his daughter at Huntington Bank.
