Funeral Service
Rebecca Sue “Becky” Morrow Hugh, of Scio passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, just three days prior to her 73rd birthday, surrounded by her loving family after years of battling cancer.
Born March 26, 1953, in Massillon, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John L. Morrow and Dolores May Zearley Morrow. She was in the last class to graduate from Scio High School in 1971. A creative person all her life, Becky started her own business, Willow Hill Candles, in 2004, selling her candles at area craft shows, fundraisers and festivals. She enjoyed antiques and finding a way to give them new life. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed cooking, using the vegetables she grew in her garden to share her talents with her family and friends. She was well known for making delicious homemade noodles and pies. Becky grew-up in the Catholic Church and was Catholic by faith.
Home was Becky’s favorite place, you would often find her feeding the birds, working in her garden or making a meal for someone. She was happiest when her family gathered around the table enjoying a meal, laughing and sharing stories. Her love and strength touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy will live on through her family.
Becky is survived by her husband Richard “Rick” Hugh, whom she married March 21, 1992, her son John Custer, grandchildren Katelyn(Garrett) Blue and John Kyle Custer, daughter Jodi(Mitch) Nichols, grandsons Andrew and Ethan Nichols, daughter Jennifer(Joe) Laque and granddaughter Zoe Laque, stepdaughter Bambi(Brian) Berger and grandson Mason Berger, sister Diana(Scott Lallathin) Piergallini, five great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Sheila Brown and brother-in-law Dino Piergallini.
Services will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11 am in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio, with her classmate, Pastor Dixie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Scio. Friends may call Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4-8 pm and Friday one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
