Betty Jane Stull Hurl, age 93, of Austintown, formerly of Scio, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at her daughter Deb Henry's home near Scio, after a period of declining health.

Born February 28, 1931, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late George Stull and Dolly Mae Wagner Stull. Betty graduated from Scio High School in 1949 and was known for her feisty personality and being a hard worker all her life. She worked on the dipping machine at Scio Pottery for over 25 years, then she married Jack Hurl and they moved to Austintown. She worked several jobs in Austintown but the one she enjoyed the most was at Hampton Inn, where she served breakfast and made conversation with the travelers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hurl, a daughter Kathy Cline Morris and a brother Jim Stull.

Surviving is her daughter Deb (Dan) Henry of Scio, grandchildren Scott (Jodi) Henry of Jewett, Brandi (Luke) Simmons of Amsterdam and Jayson  (Stefanie) Morris of Austintown, great grandchildren Zack Henry, Carter Simmons and Connor Simmons and her loving dog Henry.

Private graveside memorial services will be held in Grandview Cemetery, Scio at the convenience of the family.
