Brenda Marlene Walters Leggett, age 66, formerly of Mt Vernon, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her home near Perrysville, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 4, 1959, in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Merle Walters and Elizabeth McGary Walters. In 1977 she graduated from Carrollton High School and Buckeye JVS. For over 20 years, she worked as a long-haul truck driver and asphalt truck driver for multiple companies. She retired in 2023 from Griffith's Trucking in Carrollton, as their scale house operator.
Brenda loved any time spent with her family and hosted an annual Memorial Day weekend 4-wheeler ride on the farm where she was raised. She enjoyed camping on the farm, as well as trips taken to Pennsylvania. She was a wonderful cook and was always expected to bring her delicious homemade noodles to every family reunion. She was known as "Purple Grandma" for her love of anything purple.
Surviving is her fiancée Ronnie "Bo" Swihart of Fredericktown, son Brock Felgenhauer of Dayton, grandson Braeden Felgenhauer of Dayton, a brother Brian (Suzanne) Walters and his children Kelly, Kevin (Jason) and Casey, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, at noon in Perrysville Church with Pastor Dixie Hendricks officiating. Friends may visit with the family Friday, March 14th from 5-8 pm at Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio.
