Catherine Lynette "Cathy" Erwin, age 65, passed away suddenly, May 18, 2023 at her home near Jewett. Born November 22, 1957 she was a daughter of the late Donald Grant McNutt and Mildred Lucille Handshuh McNutt. She worked as a nurse's assistant for many years.

Cathy enjoyed farming and loved all the animals. She was a wonderful baker who shared her delicious homemade bread with her family every week. Her most cherished gifts were her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years Alfred "Buster" Erwin; children Donald (Kim) Shorb of Scio, Sharalee (Nathan) Schupp of Scio, Amanda Shorb of Alabama, Bill ( Rachel) Erwin of Scio and Susan Erwin of Dennison; grandchildren Donald Shorb Jr, Chase, Connor, Madilynn and Carter Helms, Zach Manbeck, Larry Eckley III, Robert and Miranda Eckley, Nathan Schupp Jr, John Bucher V, Leah, Elliott Bucher, Tyler and Lindsey Erwin, Infinity and Skylar McFarland and  Blane, Austin and Blake Erwin; great grandchildren Sam Manbeck, Rose and Iris Pfuhl and Adeline Erwin; siblings Don "Butch" McNutt, Ina Ladich, John (Mary) McNutt, Jim McNutt, Ned (Betty) McNutt, Mary Frye, Rachel (Mike) Warner, David (Diane) McNutt, Paul (Sherry) McNutt and Seth McNutt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Evelyn Marie Shorb, a brother Brian McNutt, sisters-in-law Kathy and Valerie McNutt and a brother-in-law Mike Ladich.

Services will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Dixie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Baxter's Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Koch Funeral Home, PO Box 193, Scio, Ohio 43988 to help with her funeral expenses.
