Obituary

Cathy Lynne Galbraith, age 72, formerly of Dover, passed away peacefully at her home near Scio on Friday, September 18th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 17, 1953, in Steubenville, she was the only child of George Pincola and Patricia Ferrell Pincola.

Cathy was in the last class to graduate from Scio High School in 1971. She went on to train at Cadiz Hospital to be a medical technologist. For almost 50 years she worked and trained others in many local hospitals, finally retiring in 2023.

Cathy was a generous giver of her time and talents to her friends and community. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover since 1991, where she sang in the choir, served as a PSR teacher, and a eucharist minister. She and her husband, Dan, were the chairpersons for the St. Joseph's Festival for seven years. She was also a member of Sue's Sewing Sister’s in Scio, the Scio Garden Club, and a social member of the Scio American Legion Post 482. She was the co-chairperson for the Scio Alumni and volunteered at Birthright in New Philadelphia.

Cathy was skilled with her hands and enjoyed many hobbies and crafts including quilting, stained-glass, and crafting homemade Christmas cards. She moved from Dover to her family farm in 2019, where she could work in her flower garden, raise chickens, spend time with her horses that she had ridden on endurance courses, and enjoy countless hours with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Dan Galbraith, whom she married October 5, 1991; children Jeremy (Renee) Galbraith of Dover, Erica (Matt) Zeedyk of Dover, Desta (Matt) Cupp of Gahanna, and Jessica (Shannon) Prough of Avis, PA; grandchildren Jillian Walker, Carter Zeedyk, Hanah Galbraith, Abigail Zeedyk, Jayden Walker, Lily Galbraith, Cailyn Cupp, Elyse Zeedyk, Tristan Cupp, Ryker Galbraith, and Mallory Prough; as well as numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St Joseph’s Church, 613 N Tuscarawas Ave., Dover, Ohio celebrated by Father James Hatfield on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Dover, Ohio. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio, Ohio.
