Edward “Todd” Arthurs, age 68, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2026, at his home in Bowerston.
Born April 22, 1958, in Steubenville, he was a son of the late Edward L. Arthurs and Ethel Frances Kain Arthurs. He worked for US Ceramic Tile in East Sparta and was a driver for Heubner Chevrolet Subaru in Carrollton after working for 20 years at the Ohio Power Cardinal Plant in Brilliant. He had fond memories of working at the Cardinal Plant, the comradery and pranks with the other workers were treasured stories he shared with his family.
Todd was devoted to his family, he took care of his ailing mother in her later years of life and enjoyed all of the outings with his sisters to grab lunch and spend the afternoon together. But what he loved the most was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was never happier than when he was supporting his grandchildren at their various activities. Whether it was playing sports, band shows, Christmas concerts or even “Trick or Treating” just this past Halloween night, he was there showing them his love for them by his presence. They are grateful for the many stories that he shared with them throughout his life and the witty way he could coin a phrase, like “yea big” when giving an approximate measurement on anything.
Todd was a member of the Harrison Hills Pentecostal Church near Jewett. He enjoyed Jaz and Christian music and was not afraid to be creative when cooking. He collected slot cars and was a Bigfoot enthusiast who attended area seminars. He was always up for a road trip and enjoyed finding treasurers at Goodwill and area thrift stores. Those trips would always include a stop at a McDonald’s for his large Coke with little ice.
Surviving are his wife Peggy Sue Winland Arthurs, whom he married October 26, 1979, children Christina Arthurs of Riverview, Florida, Elisha (Jake) Citro of Carrollton, Julia (Ryan) Clark of Scio and Joshua Arthurs of Bowerston, grandchildren Coral, Duval, Aubrey, Liam and Harper, sisters Rena “Beth” (David) Antinone of Toronto and Paula (John) Dennis of Steubenville, a sister-in-law Toni Arthurs of McDonald, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Gary Arthurs.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio, Ohio with Rev Brock Caldwell and Pastor Philip Spellman officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 11 am to 1 pm. Cremation will be observed following the service.
