Obituary

Harold "Keith" Eddy, age 78, of Jewett, went home in glory on April 2, 2025, at Sunnyslope Care Center, Bowerston, Ohio.

Born on August 17, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Rev. Hobert A. and Metta Marie Moore Eddy. "Keith" was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Eleanor "Kay" Eddy. He was raised in the Nazarene faith by his loving parents and became a member of the Ridge Presbyterian Church, where his beautiful wife was raised. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He supported his family by working in the steel industry as a mill wright for Weirton Steel and by working alongside his family on the family farm that he purchased in 1972. He raised his children in the Christian faith with weekly instruction at the Ridge Presbyterian Church and supported his children and grandchildren in their extracurricular activities at their schools. Whether it was a football game, parade, a FFA event or 4-H project, Keith and Kay would be there to encourage them to do their best. However, the center of his life was his beautiful wife Kay, whom he met in junior high and married on January 30, 1965. He would often sing of her praises for her beautiful singing voice, her delicious food, her good housekeeping, and her bookkeeping and organizational skills. He would tell his grandchildren that Kay was an excellent wife that she raised him as well as their children. After the children were grown and 52 years of working at the mill, Harold "Keith" Eddy retired to spend more time with his wife. When this occurred, Kay said if he could retire from the mill than she could retire from the kitchen, and they could often be seen together at the Scio Dairy Bar ordering their usuals.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a daughter Kristina L. Eddy, granddaughter Khristen L. Snyder, and a great-grandchild of Chad and Amber Dawson that was born in heaven. Also preceding him in death are siblings Alfred Eddy and Elmer Eddy.

Surviving him are his three daughters Kathleen L. (Yale) Dawson of Bloomingdale, Ohio, Karen J. (Robert) Snyder of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Tina M. (Gabe) Craig of Jewett, Ohio and two sons Keith M. (Jennifer) Eddy of Jewett, Ohio and Kenneth F. Eddy of Scio, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings Raymond (Brenda) Eddy of Philipi, WV, Roy (Karen) Eddy of Jewett, Ohio, Carol (John) Poulson of Yellville, AR, Ronald (Dianna) Eddy of Jewett, Ohio, and Judy Visnic of Daytona, FL; nine grandchildren (which were his pride and joy) Victoria (Joshua) Davis, Chad (Amber Faith) Dawson, Patricia Snyder, Samantha (RJ) Applegarth, Olivia Craig, Abbigail Eddy, Keith R. Eddy, Annabelle Eddy, and Kaden Eddy; three great-grandchildren Joey, Grant and Calvin Davis and a fourth one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11 am in Ridge Presbyterian Church, Hanover Ridge Rd, Scio with Pastor Scott Mooney officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett. Friends may call Friday, April 4th from 5-8 at Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio and Saturday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service.

The family would also like to thank those in the community that have supported them in dealing with their father's disease whether it was a kind word, a simple prayer, words of encouragement or anonymous voice message.
