Harold Leroy "Roy" Wentland, 84, of Scio, formerly of Jewett passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia.

Born October 22, 1930 in Amsterdam he was the son of the late Carl and Alta Day McFadden. He was an installer for GTE and Verizon for 38 years. After retiring he went back to work delivering meals to people for Harcatus. Roy was a member of the St James Lutheran Church in Jewett for 57 years and had recently been attending Rocksford Methodist Church near Roswell.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Eileen Boone Wentland; children Barbara (Mike) Chesla of Cadiz, Elizabeth (Danny) Armstrong of Uhrichsville, Judy (Tom) Dutton of Jewett, Harold (Cindy) Wentland, Jr of St Simons Island, GA, Kathy (David) Albaugh of Steubenville and Lawrence "Larry" (Tammy) Wentland of Brevard, NC; grandchildren Chris, Courtney, Danny, Ryan, Erica, Corey, Elizabeth, Enoch, Leah, Randy, Amanda, Andrew, Sam and Colby; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother Martin Moyer of Redwood, CA and his loving dog "Gigi".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Robby Dutton.

The family is honoring his wishes to be cremated with no services at this time. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice House, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia 44663.
