Obituary

Howard "Rex" Felgenhauer, 86, passed away at his home near Scio, into his Lord and Saviors Kingdom, on Sunday December 1, 2024. He was born July 26, 1938, at home in Zoar, Ohio to Thomas Felgenhauer and Florence Brady Felgenhauer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Jean, Beverly and Dorothy, a brother Tommy "Bud", a kid brother Gayle, an infant grandson Andrew and in-laws Bud and Ruth Albright.

Rex loved all the old country "Crooners" and bluegrass music. He was a funny guy with a great sense of humor. He had his own "Rex-isms", that all that knew him well would recognize.

His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He made sure they knew how to "fix" everything from toys to cars. He taught them all how to fish, no matter the day of the week, or an all-night catfish trip, he took them all! He taught them lots of life lessons through his wisdom and knowledge. He enjoyed hunting coon, deer and squirrels, and all the while teaching his grandchildren the craft, as he did with his own children. He enjoyed gardening and canning his harvest. In his younger days he enjoyed drag racing and was known for his "hot" 59 Chevy.

Rex was a life member of Local #18 Operating Engineers and operated heavy machinery. He and his wife, Connie, owned and operated B&F Dairy Bar in Scio for 29 years, building a successful business over the years. He also ran "Grandpa's Taxi Service" because his grandchildren were his world. Rex served in the US National Guard in Camp Perry in Sandusky and was a life member of the NRA.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years Connie Albright Felgenhauer, children Joanne (Marc) Saylor, Steven (Andrea) Felgenhauer and Christina (Forrest Matson) Felgenhauer, grandchildren Kristopher, Seth, Matthew, Jason, Heather, Tanner, Noah, Natalie and Hanna, great grandchildren Skyelar, Wesson, Connor, Kennedy and Kayden, sisters Eileen, Eunice, Opal, Donna, and Linda, a brother Paul and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friend may call Tuesday, December 3rd from 1-3 pm at Koch Funeral Home, Scio where services will be held immediately following at 3 pm with Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Conotton Cemetery. www.kochfuneral.com
