James Eugene "Gene" Wolfe, age 82, formerly of Germano, died Friday, May 13, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.

Born April 9, 1940 in Jewett, he was a son of the late Charles Wolfe and Mildred Thompson. Gene honorably served his country in the US Marines. A coal miner all of his life, he had worked for the former Ohio Edison Coal Company and at the Nelms #2 Mine. He had also been a member of the Jewett Sportsman's Club.

Preceding him in death is his wife Donna Stringer Wolfe: sisters and brothers-in-law Beulah (Tommy) Ankrom, Bernice (Todd) Carter and Geraldine (Harold) Hoobler; infant siblings Beverly and Harry Wolfe and a sister-in-law Cheryl Wolfe.

Surviving are his brothers Robert (Sally) Wolfe of Hopedale and Ronald Wolfe of New Philadelphia; a step grandson Derek Walton and his wonderful caregiver and friend Marco.

A Memorial Service may be planned for a later date. Koch Funeral Home in Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
