Joan C. Middaugh Janks, age 70, of Scio, formerly of New Lexington, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Country Club Retirement Center in Dover.

Born April 20, 1954, in Zanesville she was a daughter of the late Wayne Franklin Middaugh and Ruth Fink Middaugh Decot. She was raised and lived most of her life in New Lexington. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked at Glasfloss in Crooksville for nearly 30 years.

Joan was Lutheran by faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo and could watch numerous cards at a time. She would seize any opportunity to travel with her family and friends.

Surviving is her son Jerome "Jerry" (Jacki) Middaugh of Scio, a grandson Joseph (Danielle) James and his children Rowan and Jett, and granddaughters Christina James and Samantha Middaugh (fiancée Chance McAfee); siblings Roberta Clark, Mary (Everet) Moore, Wayne "Sonny" Middaugh, John (Pam) Middaugh, Edwin Middaugh and Lori (Matt) Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Daniel Middaugh.
