John P. Baksa, age 75, formerly of Hopedale, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Carriage Inn of Cadiz after a lengthy illness.

Born March 22, 1940 in southern West Virginia he was a son of the late John and Lydia Tuckosh Baksa. John graduated from Jewett High School in 1959 and was a carpenter at Scio Cabinet Shop and then at the former Truss and Panel in Cadiz for 25 years. John also enjoyed woodworking and upholstering. He was an artist who enjoyed painting and cake decorating.

Surviving are his wife Nancy Lee Graham Baksa, who he married July 21, 1961; children Sandra and Jackie Baksa of the home, Randy (Karen) Baksa of East Springfield and Rickey (Laura) Baksa of Jewett; a grandson Sam Baksa of East Springfield; step grandchildren Austin (Sarah) Mattioli of Steubenville, Aaron Mattioli of East Springfield, Tammy (Dave) Fultz of Akron and Janelle Manbeck (companion Shawn Cunningham) of New Rumley and step great grandsons Zeik and Brodey Fultz and Gage Stoneking.

Services will be held Friday at noon in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Anthony Bianchini officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 pm and Friday from 11-12 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, 43943.
