(Ralph) Junior Ankrom, age 77, of Scio passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, in WVU Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.

   Born December 20, 1948, in Steubenville he was a son of the late Ralph H. Ankrom, Sr and Dorothy Manbeck Ankrom. Junior graduated from Jewett High Schol in 1966 and was a Vietnam Veteran honorably serving his country from 1966-68. He was a heavy equipment operator for numerous area coal companies over his lifetime, retiring from Westmoreland Coal in 2019. Junior was a member of the Jewett VFW and Jewett Sportsman’s Club and was an avid hunter.

   Surviving is his wife Jenny Lyn Greene Ankrom, whom he married September 5, 1970, daughters Chris Snyder of Scio and Staci (Eric) Plumley of Sarasota, FL, grandchildren Katelyn (Garrett) Blue and her children Paityn, Maddox, Marshall, Brynlee and Taytum, Brock (Alisha) Hovanick and his children Barrett and Lyla, Kyle Custer (Leah Akers), Bailey (Nick) Branon and her child Landrie, Emma Plumley (Strony Shi) , Tucker Snyder and Turner Snyder; a sister Janie Schupp and nephew Jimmie Schupp both of New Philadelphia and his buddy Gunner.

   Junior was preceded in death by his son-in-law Jeff Snyder and brother-in-law Roy Schupp.

   Services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
