Karen Lynn Kuhns, age 69, of Sherrodsville, formerly of Scio, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, after a lengthy illness.

Born January 23, 1955, in Beckley, WV, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Allen and Lena Foster Allen. Karen was a homemaker who loved animals. She would take in any unwanted strays and even rescue wild animals. She gave a loving home to everything from dogs, cats, and barn yard animals to macaws and possums. She shared this passion with her grandchildren and would allow them to name the animals, and what names they could come up with. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds.

Karen was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Slauter, second husband Charles "Charlie" Kuhns, a son Kevin Slauter and a brother Edward Allen.

Surviving is a daughter, with whom she resided, Lena (Paul) Parker of Sherrodsville a son Wayne (Nina) Slauter of Kentucky, grandchildren Zack, Haley, Angel and Owen, a sister Rhelda Kuzak and a niece and nephew she was especially close to, Racheal and Jason Kuzak, all of Sherrodsville, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Honoring Karen's wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements.
