Mamie Kisamore Leone, age 94, formerly of the Scio area, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, in New Dawn Healthcare Center, New Philadelphia.
Born May 6, 1932, she was the oldest daughter of the late Fred Kisamore and Mary David Kisamore. Mamie was a Perrysville High School graduate and was well known as a wonderful cook and baker. She worked for area restaurants and retired from Jewett-Scio High School where she had been a cook in the cafeteria.
Mamie was a former member of the Scio American Legion Post 482 Auxiliary and had attended Bethel Church before moving to Florida around 2003, she returned to the area in 2019. Always outgoing, she loved to dance and found she enjoyed singing Karaoke when she moved to Florida. She was also an avid reader.
Surviving are children Fred McFarland and Ken McFarland both of New Philadelphia, Mike McFarland of Louisville and Kathy Stewart of Perrysville, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul McFarland, her second husband James Leone, a son David Michael McFarland, a brother Harold Kisamore and sisters Lois Witeman, Hattie Virtue, Carol Hyden and an infant sister.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 2 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio with Pastor Mike Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Harlem Springs Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 12-2 pm.
