Melba J. Ramsey, age 78, formerly of New Rumley, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at her sister's home in Barberton, where she had resided for the past ten years.

Born August 27, 1945, in Braxton County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Dorsey Jarvis and Martha Dawson Jarvis. She worked for 15 years at G&J Motel at Portage Lake and 8 years at CMA Manufacturing in Bolivar. A talented crocheter, she enjoyed listening to audio tapes of the Bible and spending time with her family brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sheridan "Jim" Ramsey on January 21, 2009, they were married January 17, 1969. Also preceding her are a brother James Jarvis and a sister Oma Jean Ramsey.

Surviving are sons Elmer Ramsey of Akron and Jim (Jennifer) Ramsey of Canton, sisters Phyllis Marks of Barberton and Carol Jarvis of Flatwoods, WV, a brother Charles "Basil" (Donna Jordan-Jarvis) Jarvis, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio with Minister Coltin Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in New Rumley Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 12-2 pm at the funeral home. www.kochfuneral.com
