Russell L. Byers, age 76, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at his home in Jewett surrounded by his loving family.

   Born April 28, 1950, in Steubenville he was the son of the late Russell Byers and Alma Jean Richards Byers. A 1968 graduate from Hopedale High School, Russell honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for various owners of the Hopedale Mine for 43 years and was a former Mason who enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

   Surviving are his wife Marge Incarnato Byers, whom he married June 28, 1969, children Russell (Tracy) Byers of Cadiz, Jeannie Horn of Scio and Toni (Brian) Satterfield of Toronto, grandchildren Summer (Christopher) Wick, Jared (Danielle) Byers, Katie Byers, Michael (Gabriella) Horn and Zane and Ryan Voltz, six great grandchildren and a sister Bonnie (Don) Vargo of Hopedale.

   Honoring his wishes he will be cremated with no services. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
