Steven Adam Gibbs, age 29, of Columbus, formerly of Jewett, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 14, 2014.

Born January 1, 1985 in Dennison he was the only son of Steven Boyd Gibbs of Steubenville and Janet Ford Smith Gibbs of Columbus. Adam attended Jewett Elementary School where he enjoyed playing sports. He moved to Ashville, Ohio when he was 12 and attended Ashville High School.  He was a self-taught computer expert and had worked in the IT Department at Stanley Steamer in Columbus. Adam was currently working at Federal Express in Columbus. He also enjoyed the challenges of remodeling homes.

Adam was an environmentalist and very health conscious. He enjoyed fishing but what he loved most was spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his half-brother Bo Bendele of TX; grandparents JD and Betty Harriman of Wintersville; uncles Ron Gibbs of Parkersburg, WV and Tony Smith of Atlanta; aunts Cathy (Anthony) Toto of Leesburg, FL and Linda Wood and Donna Southworth both of Kentucky; best friends Paul Simpson and Jimmy Caplinger of Columbus and several great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Carl Gibbs, Jr.

Private services will be held in Koch Funeral Home, Scio. Memorial contributions may be made to Koch Funeral Home, PO Box 193, Scio, OH 43988 to help with his funeral expenses.
