Carol Piatt Obituary

Carol Sue Piatt, age 64, passed away at her home near Scio after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer for the past year and a half.

Born December 15, 1957 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Robert Piatt and Shirley Frey Piatt. Prior to her illness she had worked as a cook at Capitol Health (Sunnyslope Nursing Home) in Bowerston. She also had worked at the former Bayform in Cadiz.

Carol LOVED animals, always willing to take in any unwanted animal and give them a loving home. She was a giving person, taking time to visit with residents at the nursing home after her shift or on days off. She embraced Facebook, and thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with family and friends when she couldn’t see them in person.

Surviving are her children Terri (Brandon) Haney and Alan (Darci) Albright both of Scio; grandchildren Cole (Heather), Thea and Carys; a great granddaughter Claire and siblings Robin (David) Smith of FL, Wes (Donna) Piatt of Bowerston, James (Melissa) Piatt of FL and Mike (Mary) Piatt of Carrollton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her long-term partner and father of her son, Greg “Doc” Albright and a beloved uncle, Bud Frey.

Honoring her wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison County Cancer Crusaders c/o Julie Mc Peek, 226 Charleston St, Cadiz, Ohio 43907 , Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements.
