Charles Michael “Mike” Young II, age 58, formerly of Columbus and Cincinnati, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home in Scio after a lengthy illness.
Born May 22, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike was the son of the late Charles Michael “Red” Young and Miriam Schaeper Young. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati and worked as a medical transport driver.
Raised Catholic, Mike had a heart of gold and altruistic soul. He was always there and willing to help anyone in need. Mike was a season ticket holder for more than a decade and never missed a chance to see his favorite team, the Columbus Crew Soccer Club. He was an avid soccer fan and would watch pro soccer on any television he could find. In 2017, he moved to Scio to spend more time fishing at Tappan Lake and putting in a garden. Always at his side were his boxer, Bentley, and pit, Dexter.
Surviving are his loving companion of 21 years Karen Fogle Fabry, her children Victoria Lenee Fabry, John “Tyler” Vance Fabry and Paige Gabrielle Fabry, his sister Michelle (Darrel) Rogers and nephew John Strathmann, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins he loved dearly.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no services at this time. Koch Funeral Home ,Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
