Gary Nelson McBride

Gary Nelson McBride, age 86, of Jewett passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.

Born August 3, 1937, Gary was the oldest son of the late Nelson and Phyllis McBride of Hendrysburg. He served in the US Air Force and worked for Cravat Coal Co. from 1969-1978 and R&F Coal from 1978-1988. He enjoyed playing golf and watching NASCAR and professional basketball on television, especially Lebron James.

Gary was a wonderful husband to his wife Linda Coyle McBride, whom he married September 4, 1996 and was a loving father, grandfather and brother to his two sons Jeff (Mary) McBride and Darren (Peggy) McBride; grandchildren Joley (Chris) Arnold, Whitney McBride (fiancée James Harper), Jessica (George) Hernandez, Jennifer (Lucas) Valencia and Nick McBride; and great grandchildren Jace, Alivia and Jemma Arnold, Michael, Brynn and Jaxon Hernandez and Oliver and Logan Valencia;  a sister Linda; three brothers Kurt, Roger and Randy McBride and many nieces and nephews. He treated his wife’s family like his own and will be greatly missed by his stepdaughter Amy Lynn Carney, her sons Matthew and Gary Cromley and Thomas Carney, as well as his sister-in-law Rita Coyle.

He was proceeded in death by three brothers Bus, Floyd, and Brian McBride.

Honoring Gary’s wishes there will be no services. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
