Gloria G (Workman) Newman

Gloria G. Newman, age 79, of Scio, Ohio, peacefully passed away on October 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Akron, Ohio on October 18, 1942 to Rufus and Lavena (Lambes) Workman, the youngest of 9 children. She is survived by her husband Fred, son Chad (Stephanie), grandchildren Ashley (Kevin Csorba), Morgan (Grimes), Logan (Grimes), great-grandchildren Liam and Gavin, along with brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends.

She fell in love with her husband, Fred, over 56 years ago, and their mutual love for each other will last forever. Affection and true love led them to their pride and joy; they named him Chad.

Gloria and Chad are best friends, everyone knew the depth of love they had for each other, the unspoken kind of love that shows through the act of just being present in life. They were each other’s “present”.

Left to carry on her beautiful smile is her granddaughter Ashley (Csorba), and great-grandson, Liam. Younger grandchildren Morgan, Logan, and Gavin held a very special place in her heart.

Gloria had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her guidance in life is insurmountable. Always honest, always true to herself, and she never wavered in her loyalty to those she loved. Plus… she always had cookies.

She is a true angel, and will live on through us in one way or another.

A special thank you to her best friend and Pinocle partner, Judy, for all of the love and care in her final days. Also, thank you friends and family for all of your prayers, support and love during this time.

Honoring her wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Koch Funeral Home in Scio has been entrusted with her arrangements.
