Jason Everhart Obituary

Jason Edwin “Rat Head” Everhart, age 45, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at his home in Jewett.

Born July 6, 1977 in Steubenville he was the son of John Edwin Everhart and Gail Lynn Cornett Everhart of Jewett. Jason graduated in 1995 from Jewett-Scio High School and Belmont-Harrison JVS where he was in the drafting program. After graduating he worked for Bentley in Pittsburgh, PA who relocated him to S Carolina. A talented and meticulous masonry tile layer who would draft intricate original tile designs, Jason next moved to the Ft Myers, Florida area and shared his skills in beautiful homes for the next ten years. He returned to Ohio and continued his creative tile designs for various companies. Jason was creative and crafty with other things as well, carving knives and crosses from scrapped marble and wood: he could look at something discarded and see a renewed purpose or use. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing, and could find the best morel mushrooms. He was also always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In addition to his parents he is survived by sons, Jaxon and Paxton; a sister Gena Everhart and her children Daisy and Dakota; uncles Jesse (Linda) Everhart of Cadiz and Billie Farley of Xenia; aunts Michelle Cornett of Utah, Shirley Kirtley of Follansbee, Ellen Everhart of Mingo Junction and Robin Striker of Cadiz; special friends Kyle (Zoe) Newbrough and Danielle Barker, who he considered as his sister, and her daughter Shay and many cousins.

Preceding him in death is the beloved mother of his son Jaxon, Julie Newbrough, a stillborn sister Brandi Everhart, grandparents Elmer and Jeannie Cornett and Jess and Margaret Everhart, an uncle Mark Cornett and an aunt Leslie Jo Cornett that he was close to and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
