Leroy Alan Bowman, age 63, of Jewett died Wednesday, August 19, 2020 in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville after a lengthy illness.

   Born August 30, 1956 in Wheeling, WV he was a son of the late Cecil Andrew Bowman, Helen Lucille Barcus Bowman Brown and Clyde Brown. He graduated from Buckeye Local High School and served in the US Army Reserve 660th Transportation Company based in Cadiz. He worked for many years for Harcatus Housing and Weatherization in Dennison.

   Leroy was a member of the First Church of God in Cadiz, serving on their board of trustees and he was a former member of the Uhrichsville Eagles. Leroy was a jack of all trades who enjoyed tinkering in his garage. When he was younger, he also enjoyed fishing.

   Surviving are his wife Rebecca Jane Fife Bowman who he married October 20, 1979; sons Steven (Katrina) Cooper of Dover, Robert (Ginger) Cooper of New Philadelphia and Aaron Bowman of the home; a sister Karen Simpson of Tennessee; a brother Kurt (Tammy) Bowman of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

   Preceding him in death are a sister Debbie Fife and two brothers Mark and Michael Bowman.

   A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the First Church of God, 140 Jamison Ave, Cadiz, Ohio 43907. Koch Funeral Home, Scio has been entrusted with his arrangements.
