Oleta J. Anguish, age 100, formerly of Bowerston and Lake Milton, passed away peacefully at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in Carroll Golden Age Retreat in Carrollton with her daughter by her side.
Born October 26, 1922, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Locke and Iva Reed Locke. She married Dayle Anguish in 1946 and they owned and operated a farm near Bowerston until 1969 when they sold the farm and moved to Lake Milton. She had also worked at Scio Pottery.
Oleta was a member of the Berlin Center United Methodist Church and was involved with the UMW, Bible Study and Widow’s Club. She had been an avid bowler belonging to a league in Canfield. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and loved her family, especially the babies.
Preceding her in death are her husband Dayle, a daughter Alice Cottrill and siblings Virginia Host, Willis Locke and Juanita Richmond.
Surviving are children: Joyce (Gary) Warner of Florida, Edith (Greg) Staley of Jewett, Dan Anguish of Florida, Nancy (George) Hendrickson of Perrysville and Linda (Bill) Swindell of Chesapeake, VA; a son-in-law Jack Cottrill of Boardman; grandchildren: Wade Stull, Todd Anguish, Angie Fox, Lonnie Loutzenhiser, Brandy Clayton, Tom Staley, Adam Loutzenhiser, Jennifer Wallace, Alexis Forrester and Abbie Swindell; great grandchildren Santana Stull, Addison Anguish, Jacob and Katie Fox, Logan and Landon Loutzenhiser, Makala Clayton, MacKenzie Apple, Brandyn Clayton, Chris Staley, Andy and Jakob Husk, Braelynn, Weston, Gannon and Hudson Forrester; great-great grandchildren: Lucus, Iris and Paxton O’Brien and Riverlynn Apple; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, which would have been Oleta’s 101st birthday in Perrysville Church with Pastor Dixie Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery.
