Robert Hendershot Obituary

Robert Todd “Bob” Hendershot, age 82, of Bowerston, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at Park Village, Dover.

Born June 2, 1941, in St. Clairsville he was a son of the late Clyde F. Hendershot, Sr and Annie Gable Hendershot. He graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1959 and was a US Army veteran. Dairy farming had always been his passion, while still in Jr High he purchased 54 Jersey Heifers and knew this would be his life’s ambition. The first farm he purchased was near St. Clairsville, he then purchased another farm near Bowerston in 1982, they became H-Tri-Co Farms, raising and milking registered Holstein’s. He and his wife, Doris, built a home on the farm near Bowerston and moved there in 1983. In 1998 he sold the Holsteins and became a beef farmer. He worked both farms until 2018, when he sold the farm in St Clairsville. Bob was a member of the Harrison Co. Farm Bureau and the former National Farmers Organization.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Ellen Graham Hendershot, whom he married on October 6, 1973. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Mary Hendershot of St. Clairsville and Patricia Hendershot of Bellaire, nieces Jackie (Brett) Boxell and son Gatlin, Amy (Karl Vickers) Hendershot, Marissa Hendershot and Angela Hendershot and special families Tom, Ashlee, Logan and Ethan Slutz and Guy, Mary, Gracie, Garrett and Gillian George all of Bowerston.
