It was always special to talk to "Chuck" at every event held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I can't remember when I first met him, but I worked in the Safety Patrol for 54 years. Sometimes beside him, parking cars or directing traffic. Other times standing aside while he painted stripes in my parking lot. Will remember you often.

I will miss seeing Charles outside tinkering on something or splitting firewood I would drop off to him. He loved race cars and couldn't have passed in a more perfect place. You will be missed. Your friend Floyd Compher
